BlackBeard Services was built on a simple but unshakeable premise: do what you say you’re going to do. Founded by Josh Howard in 2021 as an ESP consulting firm, we identified a critical gap in the Permian Basin: a reliable spooling company that actually delivered on its commitments. So we built one.
In early 2022, Josh acquired BlackBeard’s first spooler. Later that year, we purchased Lone Star Spoolers and expanded our footprint across the Basin. In December of 2022, Josh brought on Levi Box as an owner, and together they set their sights on one goal: building the best spooling company in the Permian Basin.
Both Josh and Levi carry a reputation for outworking the competition and doing things the right way. That standard shapes everything we do, from the people we hire to the jobs we take on. We hold every person on this team to the highest bar possible.
